How do I know if I need new car tyres?

1. Tread depth: Tread depth is crucial for maintaining traction and grip on the road. One common method to check tread depth is by using a tread depth gauge. In the UK, the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6 millimetres across the central three-quarters of the tyre. If the tread depth is at or approaching this limit, it’s recommended to replace the tyres for optimal safety and performance.

These indicators become more visible as the tyre wears down.
